Baby Dito had always found comfort in staying close to his loving mother. Every day, he followed her through the forest, playing among the trees before returning for a warm nursing moment that made him feel safe. Although Dito was becoming stronger and more independent, he still relied on his mother whenever he felt tired, frightened, or lonely.
Today was different. As Dito eagerly approached his mother for milk, she gently moved away and refused to let him nurse. At first, the tiny monkey looked confused. He reached out again, hoping she would change her mind, but she continued encouraging him to stay back. Unable to understand why his favorite source of comfort had suddenly disappeared, Dito began crying loudly.
His heartbreaking cries echoed through the peaceful forest. He followed his mother from branch to branch, calling to her with sad little sounds, hoping she would stop and cuddle him once again. Watching the emotional moment, it seemed as though Dito could not understand that he was beginning an important new stage of growing up.
Although the scene appeared very sad, weaning is a natural part of life for many monkey mothers. As babies become older, mothers gradually encourage them to eat more solid foods, explore their surroundings, and develop independence. This process can be difficult for both mother and baby, and it often includes moments of crying and frustration before the young monkey adjusts.
Even while refusing to nurse, Dito’s mother remained nearby, keeping a careful watch over him and making sure he stayed safe from danger. Her behavior showed that she still cared deeply for her baby, even if she no longer offered milk as before.
As the afternoon passed, Dito slowly became calmer. He explored nearby leaves, watched other monkeys forage, and occasionally glanced back at his mother for reassurance. Though his tiny heart still longed for the comfort of nursing, this emotional day marked the beginning of his journey toward independence. With patience, love, and time, Baby Dito would gradually gain the confidence needed to grow into a healthy young monkey
